got taken Said: DO NOT BUY!! ( Sep. 4th 2010 )

This camera will easily break. Nikon will not honor their warranty even if it is within their warranty period. Read my experience, and you'll see.

I bought this camera in December 2009... rarely used it, and stored it in a shockproof case. By July 2010 it was broken.

My experience with Nikon's service was worse than the lousy camera. They sent me a photo of the camera to say that I broke it, and that it's not under warranty. All I have asked for was to have my camera fixed... I have asked for service, not an estimate! Also, the estimate was a scam. In the estimate, they asked me to pay more money to repair the camera than what I paid for the camera in the first place! I was already out some cash since I spent money just to send it back safely to them. It was truly pathetic.

I was truly appalled by the response that I've received. I merely wanted my camera fixed - for Nikon to honor its warranty for a broken camera. For a company to stand behind its product. This was NOT what I got.

I have tried to keep an open mind. However, based on Nikon's pathetic response, and the lousy lack-of-service I've experienced, please make no mistake - I highly doubt that I will buy a Nikon camera again. In fact, I plan to go out of my way to share my negative experience to everyone in my influence as I vent my severe discontent at Nikon.

Scammed - that's how I truly feel. They should not sell any more of their lousy products - they really should be on the public's DO NOT BUY list.

Juan Carlos Said: Junk ( Aug. 28th 2010 )

This camera sucks! The screen died after 10 months. It requires surgeon's hands for the image to come out ok. My daughter hates it. It takes good video. Go for Canon S20 and above instead.

ceomom Said: Mode options makes this a great little camera ( Aug. 28th 2010 )

Gave this camera to my sister and she loves it. It's easy to use and the snapshots are good quality. Not a dslr but a good snapshot camera with video capabilities.

L. Brecht Said: Coolpix L20, defective battery door ( Aug. 17th 2010 )

My camera freezes often & I get 'battery exhausted' even with fully charged rechargeable batteries. If you google the issue turns out it is likely the battery door with sensitive or defective contact points to the batteries? If you open & close the door, the problem goes away, for a while. This is my 4th Coolpix camera & I am not happy about this at all. I will check a camera shop to see how costly/successful the repair might be ;o(

CODY E WINCHELL Said: WORST DIGITAL CAMERA I HAVE EVER OWNED ( Jul. 27th 2010 )

Well my frustration with this camera came to a head last week on our trip to the Smoky Mountains.... I took 7 pictures of Bears and 6 of them turned out blurry. We also went to the Nascar speed park and ALL of the pictures from there turned out blurry. bottom line unless you are standing still this camera sucks completely. i have tried every mode on this camera - auto/easy auto/running/portrait/landscape - you name it it simply isn't possible to take a picture of anything that is in motion. A complete P.O.S. also, anytime you ask someone "Hey, can you take our picture?" - you have to give them a lesson and tell them to "hold it EXTREMELY STILL - then push the buttom 1/2 way down - then the light will turn green - then push the button the rest of the way down" - it is effin impossible to teach someone how to use this p.o.s. i am trying to return mine to Nikon for a full refund. simply horrible - the worst digital camera i have ever owned BY A MILE!!!!!!!!!!!!
